What I'm Listening To: From The Westside With Love(Mixtape)

I've been listening to this tape all night. This is From the Westside With Love by west coast rapper Dom Kennedy.  Dom Kennedy has gained an outstanding buzz since I first started listening to him. Dom Kennedy has earned his spot in the forefront of the emerging generation of west coast rappers that are taking over. On this tape he raps about money, clothes, and women(topics which are found present on just about every album), but he also takes time to talk about love, identity,  ambition and pride for his area . My favorite tracks on this tape are "In Memory of" and "1997" both of which listen to just about everyday.  This is the perfect tape to play while riding around town, with your top down.

New Balance 999 X Concepts

I was just looking for a dope pair of  New Balances to buy for this summer and I came across these. These New Balance 999's designed by Concepts were inspired by late president John F. Kennedy, and nicknamed "The Kennedys". The design of these sneakers reflect Kennedy's love of New England's sailing history. This sneaker's colourway is trimmed in the classical  colors red, white, and blue and feature tan highlights. There is a semaphore pattern grid used in the foot bed while gray and khaki accents ground the shoe. These kicks are the result of a keen eye for detail and feature a lot of tiny details including nylon paneling and CNCPTS flag logos. The launch of the New Balance 999 will be April 16 at Concepts in Cambridge, MA. The 999's will also be accompanied by related products including: a premium sail polo, 5-panel duck brimmed cap, artisan sail-lace tee, semaphore tote bag, signature Rayban Wayfarers, bucket hat, monkey fist key chain, and a handmade rope-bracelet from Nantucket. hit the jump for more views.
